Halloween Crafternoon Tea

Step into the softer, spellbinding side of Halloween with our special Halloween Crafternoon Tea — a cosy, creative afternoon inspired by folklore, seasonal traditions, and the quiet wisdom of those who came before us.

Set beside a peaceful historic graveyard, this experience invites you to slow down and reconnect with the rhythms of the season, weaving together stories, symbolism, and gentle reflections on ancestry and remembrance.

You’ll enjoy a delicious homemade Halloween-themed afternoon tea, filled with comforting treats and autumn flavours, while taking part in an expertly guided seasonal craft activity inspired by nature, folklore, and the turning of the year. The craft? a surprise: more of a Treat than a Trick however!

Throughout the session, we’ll share traditional tales, old beliefs, and fascinating facts about this time of thinning veils, harvest endings, and honouring ancestors — helping you feel rooted, grounded, and connected.

This is not about fear or fright, but about warmth, creativity, and quiet magic.

Come and relax, create, listen, and reflect in a welcoming space where past and present gently meet — and leave feeling nourished, inspired, and proud of your handmade keepsake.

Wainsgate Chapel is in their words "a hidden gem - a former Baptist chapel tucked down a quiet track on the hillside just outside Hebden Bridge, in the dramatic landscape of the South Pennines, West Yorkshire. This Grade II listed building is alive with a bold mix of arts, heritage, and community activity." www.wainsgate.co.uk

The graveyard is described as "a sanctuary for wildlife". It is a beautiful and peaceful natural space that will absolutely be integrated into the Crafternoon Tea experience. Checkout more information and their pictures here.

The building is fully wheelchair accessible, with step free access throughout. There is some uneven ground in the graveyard that might be tricky for a manual wheelchair, but every effort is made by our facilitators to adapt the experience for wheelchair users.
